  • Anyone use "bing" on their computer?

No one will believe this but I set up my new laptop wirelwss computer and my new Kodak wireless printer by myself and they actually work together. Believe it or not. I didn't have to ask the TUG computer gurus for any help.

Now my laptop tries to get me to sign onto bing every time I turn it on. I have no idea what it is or what is does. Any advice if it is a good idea or not and what does it do?

    TIA.

Are you talking about the Bing travel site? Is it everytime you turn your computer on or every time you bring up your web browser? If the latter, which makes more sense, check to see what you home page is set to.

I tried Bing and got rid of it. It is basically a search engine/ travel site from Microsoft. I would uninstall it as it can be a resource hog.

Thanks. it is not installed so if i can find it listed, i will delete it. It is the search engine, not the travel site.

Look in your toolbars to see if it is listed there. Also use options to change your default search engine from Bing to Google or some other better one.

Change your default browser from IE to Firefox, Chrome, Safari or some other non-Microsoft one to be safer & get rid of the useless & irratating bing.

Bing, the search engine, loads maps better than Google when using mobile in fringe area.
