  • setting printer as default printer

I take my laptop back and forth between two homes. Right now it is set with the northern printer as the default printer and I am at the southern home. When i had Windows XP I could figure out how to set as default printer, but I can't do it in Windows 7. I can usually print when the set up window pops up, but when something goes directly to the printer, it won't print.

    Click on Start

    Select Devices and Printers

Right mouse click on Printer you want as Default

Click on Set as Default Printer

Note: We have at least one program where you select printer from that program (Quicken). Must also change in program where you can select printer.

    Hope this helps,

    Nancy

I have an ad on CL down there to get the same printer for our southern printer as our northern printer.

I was going to say that if you don't get it setup, I will be at CMV this afternoon and could stop by sometime before we leave on Sunday, but I guess that isn't going to solve anything.
