  • I "lost" my camera on my iphone

I frequently use my iPhone to take pictures.
    I did yesterday.

When I looked today for the camera icon/app on the phone it was gone.

It is not hidden in one of those "multi" app boxes, I must have deleted it by mistake?

I attached the phone to my computer and used iTunes to synch it, looked for it there in the apps but it is not there.

    Photo App is still there.

    Any suggestions???

Go to your app store and redownload it if you can not find it. Should still be free. If not then you may have to reset your phone back to default

The camera app cannot be deleted, because it is one of the applications that ship with the phone---you can't delete them even if you want to. It is odd that it does not show up in Springboard. However, if you "swipe to the right" from your (first) home screen, you will be taken to Spotlight. From there, you can search for "camera" and it should turn up.

        Thanks Frank and Brian,

Brian, I found it as u said, but how did I get it back on the springboard? It takes pictures from there but would be rather cumbersome to use.

Have you tried an actual hard restart to see if that fixes it (hold down home button and wake/sleep for a few seconds)?
