It's so old-fashioned, so last year, isn't it?

Particularly for the younger generations. DD (17) has an email address, but rarely checks it, maybe once a week. She does everything by text, Facebook, Twitter and the newest one for her, Tumblr.

It may be old fashioned but it is the only thing I use or plan to use other than telephone.

I am with you so far John, but when I really feel left in the dust, I will have to rethink my position...

The only way I can think of to be as annoying as people who's pocket noise is telling them a new text has arrived every couple of minutes is for my pocket to make the same noise every couple of minutes.

DW is slipping into it, and when I see her texting back I sometimes say, "Just call 'em and get all that back and forth crap over with."

If both parties are sitting there, available, doing nothing else, why don't they just call and talk to each other?

I do not answer texts, so guess what? . . . I don't get any.

I have texting blocked on my cell phone. I called Verizon and asked them to block texting and internet access on my phone.

I work with youngins' and we provided a phone for our nephew and his wife for two months.

I would say they spend about half their waking time on their phones, mostly texting and data plan stuff.

Probably about as much time as I've wasted on timeshare forums the last 12 years.
