Looking for a tough but cheap MP3 player

I am now driving to work on a scooter. Getting about 67 Miles Per Gallon, I figure I save $3/day on the scooter and save wear on the SUV.

The scoot has a very cheap radio built in, but getting it to lock onto a station or find a station with music in the morning (they all want to talk to me in the AM) is tough. Since there is an MP3 connection, I would like to buy a cheap MP3 player to listen to on the way to work. It needs to have enough durability to it that it can sit in the scooter glove box and bounce around a little and still play tunes.

Any suggestions on a cheap MP3 player?

We have a Sansa SanDisk that is amazingly tough. My DH puts it in his pocket w his keys and wallet every night when he walks the dog. Weve dropped it and kicked it and stepped on it. A couple of times weve even zapped it w an electical shock. The screen went blank and we thought that was it...but after a days rest it came back just like before. Plus theyre really inexpensive.

That triggered a memory. I had gotten a 'free' Sansa (C200, couple generations older than the Clip) as a gift for completing several surveys for some outfit. I had not used it in the past 2-3 years because I had the Blackberry and now the Droid Bionic, so the Sansa was tucked away. I had to do some digging, but I found it. I have it charging now, but I was able to turn it on and yes, my music is still there and it plays. I will stick it in the scooter tonight.
