Anyway, here's what I'm thinking.
I want to get rid of Centurytel at our summer place (2 phone lines and wireless Internet) and Comcast at our winter place (wireless Internet).
We would use cell phones only and use a 4G hotspot for Internet.
Whattya think?
Ole POC is still hardlined to a phone line for AOL>>>anything we can do about that, to have internet on it? It obviously does not have a wireless card.

What I'm wanting to know is if this is the type of thing that can be used for everyday home PC or LT internet access, instead of cable or phone DSL type access, or is it just another electronic gadget with a contract, a plan, and a monthly fee?Last edited by JLB; 09-07-2012, 06:59 PM.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

I am going with>>>No, a mobile hotspot is not a viable substitute for traditional cable or phone company high-speed Internet for home use.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

I would not give up dedicated wi-fi at home.Lawren
