Google Chrome - Gmail problem

When I use Google Chrome and gmail and creating a new email. I key in the first couple of letters in the address and the name & address comes up, but when I click on it, it doesn't transfer to the address bar. Any suggestions? I don't have the same problem when I use IE and gmail.

I don't actually use the mouse for that; the keyboard shortcuts will do. Up or down arrow until the one you want is highlighted, and return/enter should select it.
