  • Scanner Not Found

On May 6, I scanned, saved, and printed 128 pages on Ole POC.

Now when I try to scan, it says:

Scanner is not found! Please check the following:
    (1) Power Adaptor is plugged in the scanner connector.
    (2) USB cable is properly connected with the scanner and PC.
    (3) USB setting is enable in BIOS.

Everything is exactly how it was May 6, and the Power On light is lit on the scanner. It goes out when I unplug it and comes back on when I plug it back in.

Where do I go to check item 3?

    TIA

Quick check - go to control panel - system - device manager & look at USB bus controllers & if there are no red cirles with lines they are active.

History says your scanner has a hardware issue. You can also test the USB's by plugging in a thiumb drive & see if it's acknowledged. If so they are working.

I check tomorrow and see if I understand what you said.

It took awhile, but I just did all that.

It was OK until USB Bus Controllers, and that was not on the list under Device Manager.

There was a Plug and Play Bios. Would that be it?

In any event, there are no red circles with lines anywhere.

Don't you love Windows? You likely rebooted & it "decided" it was there again. The lack of any red circles boded well and now your back in business. Hope it sticks for you.

It would be dark inside without them.

Perhaps you should think about getting electricity.
