if you are using it just for the internet forget every thing you are looking at and get a Chromebook The best thing I ever bought. Fast no lad at all starts up in a sec, Battery lasts a full day with out charging and every page, weighs under 2 lbs, never gets heated and I access I can go to my other computer and it can pick off where I was last at.

As far as windows 8 goes, a neighbor paid to have windows 7 installed to replace the windows 8 her new computer came with. I've noticed that several new dell computers are being sold with windows 7 still.

        Yeah, all that.

I got a refurbished Dell Latitude E6400. 4 GB, 640GB, with Win 7 Premium through Amazon for $249.

I use it for more than surfing.

I'm thinking of getting one of these too.
They look so cute and light.
And at only $249 seems like a nice deal.
How do you work the cloud account with Google?

My son had bought a Refurbished Samsung on Tigerdirect for $180 shipped. He knew I liked it so much that he bought me the same one only new for $250 for Christmas. At first I did not think I wanted Google to be the brains of my computer but now I admit that I like it when I go to computer to computer and it knows what pages to go to. As far as Cloud I have no idea how to use it. My son loves it I have just not learned how to use it yet. I guess I have to wait for my son to teach me. If you have questions list them and I will ask him to chime in,

My local techs told me I would not like Win 8. There were no new Win 7s anywhere retail, so I order one on WalMart.com. They canceled the order a few days later.

I had seen the refurbished ones on Amazon, but because they were from third parties I passed. Then I saw the 60 Minutes interview with Jeff Bezos and decided to order one. I took it to my techies and they checked it out, added the apps I needed and moved my files over from the old LT, all for $90.

The battery was only lasting about an hour, but the Seller sent me a new one, and it appears to be a 6-hour one.
