I haven't made the ipad move just yet.
Still using my Kindle Fire on wifi.
Hopefully it's not a problem this weekend when I stay at VWL & VGF.
But it would have been nice to have the Disney Experience app working.

BTW, I finally put the app in and now can't link the two reservations.
I'm doing a split stay. You'd think that would be an option but nooooo, not with Disney IT.
    Why am I not surprised?

Ahh. Jail breaking is hit and miss. I've done it several times to older phones without issue but it can be buggy.

Kind of hard to blame Apple when you add unauthorized software into the mix. Ios7 is so good now, I could jailbreak my 5s but I haven't bothered.

Ps. It voids the warranty as well.

Warranty was up anyway so wouldn't have been covered.
At least I got 2 good years of it.
I don't really need it anymore so not a big deal.
I'm doing mostly staycations and luckily almost all FL resorts believe in free wifi.
Now Cayman will be another matter but I think I can tough it out for a week in Paradise.

I am pretty ignorant but has jail breaking something to do that you cannot use iCloud? It synchs your contacts and calendar and iCloud email automatically on your PCs and iMacs, iPhones and iPads. Same for the pictures but I turned that feature off. You get some MBs free from Apple and it is enough for your contacts or calendar. Photos do not seem to count as they are stored on your computer.

She was on a old software version that didn't have the Cloud. Now she's on 7 and will have all the features.

Only people who understand tech and are willing to learn and fiddle around should jailbreak.

Well I didn't bust it out myself, I had a techie friend do it.
It worked great until I got the bright idea to put the Disney app in.
              Darned Disney.

Darn techie friends shouldn't hack other people's phones.

Jail breaking really is a bit of a hobby and you've got to be willing to do the occasional full restore to erase it.

Now that you're on iOS 7, sign up for the free iCloud account and you'll never lose your stuff again.

                  And that's another issue.
Apparently I have a very old Apple ID and it's not compatible with the stupid iCloud thingy.
                  It's always something.

That's weird. My Apple ID is an ancient .mac email address from around 2000. I wonder what makes yours incompatible? I'd definitely change it or create a new one to get iCloud features.

Yeah but then what happens with all the apps I've purchased?
I'll have to buy them again.

I don't think so. You can have different accounts for the app store and for iCloud.

iCloud is how Apple gets their hands on your private contact information. You can be assured, that all contact info in the cloud will be sold to the other parties many times over. It has also been hacked into recently: http://www.zdnet.com/apples-icloud-c...oad-7000022196 So anybody in the world can potentially get your information too.

Companies deliberately make "cloud" services with unencrypted storage, otherwise why would they even provide them. This is where convenience is a trade-off with security.
This is why I never used any "cloud" services, and never will.

Oh Jerry, I love my cloud. Having everything shared between devices is just great!

I know, this is why their approach is so successful.

                                Well nothing is secret anymore.
I called an old friend today because I'm re-entering my phone numbers that I lost.
I looked her up on the internet.
She was shocked when I told her that her phone number was right there on Google for all to see.
