We have AOL and now that they give free email with High Speed Cable, we are thinking of changing to a different dial up service for back up. We would want to be able to use it for timesharing at the various resorts that you still have to use dial up. Any recommendations?

We have EarthLink DSL which gives us 20 hours free dial-up per month nationwide. We also have a local unlimited dial-up service but it didn't work in Hawaii so I signed up for a free trial with AOL since they keep sending us the CDs. Someone had mentioned this on the other forum.
AOL gave us unlimited time so I didn't need to watch the minutes. It worked great in Hawaii but was very slow. I was expecting a lot of trouble disconnecting the AOL service but it was pain free and I restored my system to before the date I installed AOL.

The town I live in has 2 cable companies, Knology and Bright House. In my condo complex Knology cable is included in our monthly maintenance fee. I would use Knology internet, but they weren't too helpful in turning off the internet and turning back on more than once a year, so I went to Bright House. I schedule to turn it on when I get to Florida, and turn it off (take modem in) when I leave. The only problem is Bright House must come in to your home to turn it on!
