My issue is with the fact that I need to put virus protections, etc. on a minimum of 3 computers and would actually prefer to put it on all 4 of them.

Those prices don't seem too high until you are looking at x 4.

Do any of those aforementioned ones allow you to install on more than one computer for the same price?

I have been using Norton, and that always has allowed me to put it on all my computers. However, I am sick and tired of Norton Systemworks taking over my whole doggone computer.

The bootup time is ridiculous and I am continually getting those stupid popups from it tellng me attention is required when all it wants to do is scan and get rid of my cookies!

My favorite free antispyware is Avast! I had Mcafee before, I prefer this much more and it is free.

The new Panda Software Internet Security 2007 includes three computers. It is different from what we have now. We bought two single licenses so have free technical support. I don't know if the multiple (3) computer package has this feature too. Have a look here:

        http://www.pandasoftware.com/product...a=particulares

If you install this, they want you to remove all other software that protects for viruses, pop-ups, etc.

There is a free virus scan on their web page (see left) but it will not remove it, if you have a virus.

Trend Micro offers a 3 pack for $79.

Thanks John for your recommendations. Best buy recommends the TrendMicro pc cillin too!
So, I took my new laptop to the Geek Squad and they installed the Trend Micro pc cillin and Weboot Spy sweeper on it. They said it is what they install on the new computers they sell and no one comes back with problems. They said they like it because it won't reduce the boot up speed with unnecessary extras, but gives excellent protection.

My computer had only been on the internet a very short time just to set it up. After the install I ran the Spy sweeper, it found 6 spyware (minor risk) cookies on it already.

Thanks! Since I can use it on 3 computers, plus it seems to be highly recommended, that seems like a good choice to try.

I am really, really tired of my computer being so bogged down by Norton products!

Well I went ahead and loaded the Panda Software last night. Before the new software would load I had to first I uninstall Norton. Then I had to run a registery cleaner to remove some traces of an old Mcafee uninstall that did not remove cleanly.

My only complaint is that when ever I, use the internet key on my HP keyboard, or click on a web page short cut from the desk top I get a pop up message that iexplorer.exe is being hijacked. I have not had time to figure that one out.

Glad to hear they agree! I have found PC-Cillin to be priced right, unobtrusive, low CPU use and effective. As you see it doesn't take long to be hit so you need something from the start that will do the job. Even with SpySweeper you can add AdAware & Spybot Search and Destroy (both free downloads) as they will find a few more questionable items. Also the free Windows Defender from MS is worth loading. None of those take up much CPU either.

I have never used the internet key on our HP so haven't seen this pop-up warning here but I have seen many that someone or something is trying to "intrude" and they stop it. Some virus attacks too. You can turn the pop-up window off but I like to see the messages so know what is going on.

I would call technical support as I find them very helpful.

I use AVG, the free antivirus and it does not have a negative effect on my computer at all as it runs in the background.
I've used Mcafee for years and never had any 'binding' or viruses. It works great.

I'm with Phil ~~ Been with McAffee for a couple of years now & its free ~~ Not really ~~ I'm with Comcast so they provide the firewall, anti-virus, spyware, privacy & other software ~~ What I'll never use again is Norton or Systematic every ~~ They can & will mess your hard drive as well as other things ~~ They are very hard to un-install from the hard drive plus your memory ~~ I use to have AVG & the firewall from Zone Alarm ~~ which are both ok ~~ Cause they free ~~

Call? My quick search of the web site did not produce a phone number. I attempted to use the link on the site to leave a message with tech service but it was corrupted (kept starting me over when I hit the send button)

Did a reply to the e-mail that was sent containing my name/password (cut and pasted the e-mail address for tech help. Did that last night. Maybe they went to bed in Spain before it got there?

As it is every time I open a browser window (by any means) Panda pops up a message that iexplorer.exe is being hijacked. Does the same when I close a browser window.

Each time I have to click on "allow for now" before I can go forward.

I wonder now if they are offering "protecting three computers" so that they are competing with Trend Micro or to get rid of the free technical support phone calls. They keep asking me to switch over to the new program too but I won't until this one runs out which is next year November.

I call 1-818-543-6901 and they ask for your client number. They are not open 24 hours per day. If you have multiple licenses (we have two) they refer you to a technician and if you have only one license, they ask for your credit card number first before they connect you.

If you are really unhappy, I would ask for your money back. I won't recommend them anymore but we have liked their service.

Daniel, did you register? That seems to be important.

Also, they give you a 30 day trial period, I read too.
