Opera has had all that IE7 introduced and more including the ability to move bars around.

Firefox also has had tabbed browsing for a couple of years now.

I do use IE explorer mainly for the Fairfield site which decided to only be compatible with a browser last updated in 2002.?

With the latest IE7 I still rank them:

        1) Opera
        2) Firefox

        4-5) IE7

That was unfair, IE is obviouly #3 but I wanted to show the separation from the other two even now with the updated version.

Do you have a link to down load Opera? I feel daring and want to try it.

Gee that was to easy. I would have tried Opera.com before posting but I thought that site would have taken me to Opera Winfreys website or a musical opera site.

Does anyone know how to activate the "find on this page" feature with IE 7?

Microsoft Automatic Update ran this evening and did a complete re-install of IE7. Everything is now running OK. I can resize text etc successfully.

My ISP offered IE7 last week, had to disable Norton Security during download.
had all sorts of problems, browsing history showed up under favourites, coudnt
clear them. Uninstall IE7 solved the problems.

Glad you mentioned disabling Norton's. Just realized I should disable automatic updates, since I don't want IE updating with Norton's on and Netscape open.
This way I can install it with nothing open and running.

2nd automatic update of IE7 ran perfectly with Norton AV and Windows Firewall active.

I'm planning to try to give up on Microsoft and its products altogether (note that I said "try"). I've ordered a copy of Knoppix, and I'm going to try the Linux operating system. This particular version lets you run Linux "live", directly from the DVD, without installing on your PC, unless you choose to. The Firefox browser is included.

I'm tired of all of the security problems with Windows and IE--all of the vulnerabilities and late, but sizable fixes--and I hope that a lot of that will go away with Linux. However, I realize that a lot of programs aren't going to work with it. I guess I'll find out which ones don't.

Has anyone else tried a different operating system from Windows, Linux in particular? If so, how did you like it? Which browser(s) works best with it?
