  • Can't open 'email'

As of yesterday afternoon I can not open my email to access my email (does that make sense?) When I hit 'email' it opens up 'my mailbox', then when I click on "in" to see what emails have come in, a message box pops up that the Earthlink mail box has encountered a problem and must close...which it does. Now I can't even write any emails!

I have tried to copy what I see when I go to the bottom to see what the problem is, but it won't let me copy that!

This all happened after I received an email when I allowed a sender (who I was expecting an email from) to be added to my address book. Does anyone have any ideas of what I am to do?? TIA

Call Earthlink and tell them your problem, then get a hotmail or yahoo web email free for a more portable and permanent address.
For other suggestions, please specify if your Earthlink mail is web based or outlook.

Try shuting down your computer and restarting it.

Thanks to all of you. I can now access my email, but ONLY if I bypass the one email that seems to be the cause of the problem. If I even try to delete that email I can't go any further But I have been able to get my emails and just let that one go to the bottom, so it doesn't mess things up.

I will take your advice and set up another email account ASAP and then dump Earthlink. One thing on Earthlink...I can not always get all the graphics/pictures, and when I try to send them, no one else gets them!! Very frustrating

Frank, I did reboot...to no avail. I think it is something in that one email that is causing the problem.

Best to run a virus check while you're at it! You never know what was in that problem email... Good luck!
