How long will my video take to upload?


Depending on your connection speed and the size of the video,
it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to upload a video.

Generally, if you have a high-speed Internet connection you can expect
the upload to take somewhere between 1-5 minutes for every 1MB.

However, the experience is different for every user because of the variation
in connection speeds.

How do I upload a video?


Once you’ve finished editing your video, made sure it's less than 10 minutes,
smaller than 100MB, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

Click "Upload Videos" in the upper-right-hand corner of any YouTube page.

Enter as much information about your video as possible,
including Title, Description, Tags, and Category.

The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video!

Click the "Go upload a file" button.

In the next window, click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file.
Select the file you want to upload.
Determine if you want your video set to Public or Private.

Click the "Upload Video" button.

Uploading a video is a two-step process—on the next page, you'll be able to choose your video file and set the privacy settings. Uploads will usually take 1-5 minutes per MB on a high-speed connection, and converting your video takes a few minutes; you can add more info or upload more videos while it's processing.

Unless you have been pre-approved for longer videos,
your video is limited to 10 minutes and 100MB.
