Which way to go on obtaining a Router?

Should I get the router with the Verizon DSL order, or purchase locally on my own?
With Verizon, I will still do my own connecting.
Just wondering if I can get a better set up on my own.

and my laptop (from the deck). Be sure to get Verizon to send you a
router with 4 (not 2) connections in the back..
You can buy them on ebay (store) for less than they cost as Best Buys,
or Office Depot

With a wireless laptop - all you have to do is switch it on and the signal
comes to it (Just Like Magic) Wireless is great but you will still have wires!

They will need to come out to your house
and put a filter on your phone line outside

You will receive everything in the package

a month and keep getting on the line the

Marti is correct that Verizon offers you everything that is needed for DSL. In our area, this company advertises a lot and is dirt cheap. I don't know if they are in your area or not. I have no experience with them.

Verizon offers FiOS in our area and it is great for up and down loading big files. I really like it and you would too for uploading your image files to Picasa or looking at a slide show too of large image files.

It will come to your area eventually, I am sure.

I have had Verizon FIOS for 18 months now and I love it. We have the 15 MBPS service. We just switched our cable TV over to Verizon FIOS as well and am very happy with it. When they installed the FIOS Cable TV, they upgraded our router to a wireless router for free and let me keep the other one.
