ViewMgr requesting internet access

After having Verizon HSI for 3 days, while on-line using AOL, SSC FIREWALL occationally pops-up with "ViewMgr is requesting access to the internet."

So far I have clicked off.

Whats the deal?

Do I want to disable ViewMgr updates?

So far as I can determine, I don't need ViewMgr. Do any of you use it, and if so, to what advantage?
