In your opinion which is the best site for loading and sharing photos? Is it free or is there a fee? If a fee, do you think it is worth it? How do others access it? Thanks, getting back into photography after many years of not taking very many.

Picasa 2 is free unless you wish more features or storage space

picasa has been chosen and I'm satisfied with it but for the fact I've not found a way to insert the photos DIRECTLY into my posts at TS4MS.

Over 5000 photo are grouped for organization under picasa on my computer.

With over 400 uploaded to the picasa web site, I'm currently using 111 MB (10%) of my free 1024 MB. Picasa Web Albums - ROBERT

The main thing about Picasa that I like

... It pulls and organizes all the pictures of my hard drive by date into the "Folders on Disk" collection. I don’t have to hunt.

I'm going to jump in and recommend either Smugmug or Zenfolio for the fee-based sites.

I have accounts on both sites, but my main photo site is with Smugmug.

You can go to either site and read about the advantages of fee-based sites (no ads, no minimum prints to buy to maintain an account, unlimited amount of photos, viewers don't have to log on to view your photos, you can password protect photos, etc.)

Both allow you to try it for free before you have to pay.

Partly depends on what you want to do with you pics. Both Smugmug and Snapfish and pretty easy to use and allow for alblums and sharing etc.
If you are doing any blogging and want to blog your pics dirctly to your blog I would recommend either Picassa or flickr, where you can put your blog name in and one of the options for each photo is "blog it?"
