  • Microsoft admitting Vista a Flop...

Well, I guess I am glad I didn't upgrade yet but we got to see a few people that were having problems because of Vista...

    Microsoft admits Vista failure

More on the Dell side of this:

Of course, Microsoft would never admit they have a problem:

From what I heard a few weeks ago on CNBC. They said that Vista will not gain in the marketplace for at least 6-10 months from now. Microsoft is praying for the future.

I bought a cheap desktop last month with Vista on it to check it out. I don't like it. It doesn't work like XP. It's hard to find files and the network settings suck.

I'm glad that I didnt' upgrade any of my other laptops or desktop computers.

Not only that, but we have already had an unrecoverable bluescreen. We were on the phone with HP for 2 hours. They are RMAing it today. Vista won't boot.

Big Bill gets his at last?

ME II. I love it. ME was THE worst Windows in history until Vista came out. Hey if this is the best they have after 7 years of work (they say it was "5 years late" but they ignored the first two when it would have been "on time") and 90% of what was promised cut out of the shipping edition they deserve to fall on hard times. Heck, they deserve it anyway just for their past arrogance and what they did to far superior competition by cutting prices or buying them out to kill them off.

I hope we're seeing a new day dawn of usable, reliable software rather than the Micropatch nightmare we all live with now. Heck I just switched my laptop from W2K to WinXP because it came on it (new) - it has been a disaster of frequent freezes, corrupt files, programs that won't work or load - I had very little of that with 2000. I may try to go back even with the new hardware as it is an adventure every time I sit down if it will run or not. An adventure I don't need.

Lets hope we're seeing the end of the microsnot monopoly. It's been too long.

From what I heard MS say. There is no more Blue Screen of death. They changed to color to Red.

I just bought a new Dell desktop for the office and had Windows XP Pro installed on it, not Vista. Too many unknowns, can't afford too much down time.

My husband has Vista on his work laptop and actually likes it. He feels that it offers more security for his data. I am still using XP. Sometimes, I even run Linux which my husband made me put on a removable hard drive.
After getting used to it, I do like Office 2007.

I'm still using Office 2000 since I have an unlimited licensed copy. As soon as I switch to Office 2007, I have to buy a new copy for each PC. I always have at least 5, so that doesn't work for me.

We just got a Dell with Vista and I hate it so much. It is slow and miserable, and nothing is compatible with it.

Now...I wonder if Dell will take it back....

Yopu can try asking them to install XP instead.

I hate the way MS makes everything obsolete. Greedy, money grabbing*&$%#@$%^!

I think you're past the 7 minute rescind period they offer...

Nothing is compatable with it because it is to new. That is one reason MS says it will take time for Vista to take off.

                              Apple

I say we all migrate over to Apple! Security? check! Viruses? Next to none! Stability? Great! User friendly...absolutely. And now with the intel chip you can load Windows onto you Apple if you really must (for all you gamers out there)
