  • problem burning a picture cd

My husband is making a presentation tonight using pictures he took witha digital camera. He put the slide show together on Kodak EasyShare. the order of the slides is important. when he burned the cd, it comes out out of order. He has burned 5 cd's, sorting by different available options such as captions, favorites, date taken, protected. No matter what he does, they come out in t he same order, but different from what he has set up.

Can anyone suggegst a way to burn the cd in the correct order. I can't tell you how many days have been wasted trying to get this together.

Do you have Microsoft Office installed? If so, your easiest solution is to create a Powerpoint presentation. Just create a blank presentation, add as many slides to it as you have pictures and on each slide, do Insert->Picture->From File. You can select the picture you want on that slide, move it around, re-size it, etc. Moving the slides around in order and such is easy as "drag & drop" to re-order them. I know with PowerPoint 2003 it has a "Package for CD" option when you click on File in the menu. I haven't used it, but I have used it for a picture slide show in the past.

The only caveat is that whoever you're sending the CD to needs to have powerpoint too in order to view the presentation. Another option is to check out the various SlideShow software available here:

Windows » Design tools » Slideshows Downloads - Shareware and Freeware Software

Tucows rates the various software and I haven't seen any products on their site which fall far from the ratings. You can filter on "Freeware" to see what free options are available as well.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

What did you end up doing for the presentation?

He spent hours figuring out which number each slide was, and then planning to jump to the slide by keying in the number.
However, he ended up just running all the slides continuously while he talked and then stopping some and talking about them. He had a very interested group for his first presentation.

We don't have power point and he is not getting paid for the presentation so we aren't going to spend a lot of money on other programs, but he is doing it each Monday evening all summer (and another program he is putting together) at christmas mountainm Wisconsin Dells, in the clubhouse. It is on the rec. schedule.
