  • Upgrading to IE #7

    Any reason not to? TIA

I just upgraded mine the other night and have not had a problem thus far..definitely a different look. I have yet to get used to the tabs unstead of always opening new windows. You can do either. I find it slightly a little more user friendly with larger icons; it reminds me a little of what my SIL's apple looks like, with the back and forward button placement.

If you have any antivirus software, be sure to turn it off while you upgrade. I have been using IE 7 for more than a year. It was completely seamless for me.

I upgraded long ago and it has never worked for me on one of my computers. I mainly use Firefox as a browser or Enigma, Netscape, or Opera.

At work there are still some apps that freeze up if IE 7 is present. Be sure that the software you use on a regular basis has been tested with it.

Thanks. I think I'll hold off for a while...a long while.

IE7 is just trouble and a small part of the failed Vista project. It does tend to break things, its slow and there arebmuch more secure and standards based products like Firefox that are a much better upgrade.
