  • Just Signed Up For FIOS

FIOS is finally in my neighborhood and I signed up at the mall last night. Had to go to the kiosk as the hold time on the phone was ~ 65 minutes.I took the package, however, FIOS TV is not yet available in my town, so I just got the phone & computer 2-fer at the introductory price of $69.99/mo. Can add-on TV when it gets here.

Good intro price (loss-leader?) for two years then who knows ?

    Bye, bye dial-up. Woo-Hoo !

Does anyone else have FIOS ? What is it like ?

    Thank you.

I have had FIOS since September. LOVE IT and I was coming from DSL. If you are transitioning from dial-up you will look like that old memorex commercial. You know the one where the guy is blown back in his chair?

Yes, indeed. Wasn't he playing Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" ? YouTube - Apocalypse Now Clip - a la "Apocalypse Now"

I'm looking forward to the experience.

We were the 2nd town in MA to get it, I think. So we've had FIOS for a while. Last week we got the HDTV box for our FIOS. We love the service. We have phone, internet and TV.

                Enjoy!

Yes, we do and we like it. We have had it for a while. They have a fantastic deal at the moment here. If you sign up for all three (FiOS, phone service and TV) they will give you a very nice HD TV free of charge. Since we don't want the phone service, we can't take advantage of it but we want to sign up for the FiOS TV soon.

Does anyone have that and do you like it? The picture is crystal clear at the Verizon office.

You will love the FiOS in comparison to a dial-up connection!

We just signed up for that package. Have had it for a couple of weeks now (haven't gotten the free tv yet). In general we are very pleased. We also switched from DSL. The only things I don't like about it are 1) no MSNBC channel and 2) the caller id/call waiting feature no longer works on my phone. One of these days I will call them about it. I only think about it when I get a beep and I'm already on the phone with someone else then!

You are going to love it!!! Man you can download so bleaping fast your hard drive will smoke!

Before you get it just go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and take note of the download and upload speeds. Then after fios measure your speed again.

I just wish Verizon would offer the TV fios here in NYC. For some political reason they can't offer it yet in NYC.

We lived in Keller Texas, the first town in the nation to get it. We signed up for it from the get go.

When it came time to move that was one of my biggest regrets was having to go to DSL...which I dislike greatly. I wish we had Verizon service.

                          YOU WILL LOVE IT....

My FIOS is being installed tomorrow, therefore, I may/may not be reachable via email.

                            Just an FYI.

I get MSNBC on channel 83. Are you sure you don't get it?
