  • Very tiny font

We just got a new laptop and the font is tiny. I can do the "control-scroll mouse" thing to make individual website fonts bigger (like here in TS4Ms), but it doesn't affect the address bar in the browser. In addition, my AOL mail font is extremely tiny.

I tried to adjust screen resolution but it just made things blurry. I also tried to change the DPI, but when I reboot, the font is still tiny. Even the icons on my screen are small.

Is there anything else I can do? It's driving me nuts!

Have you tried the buttons on top: View....Text Size... then change the size?

Yes, but that just affects the same text I can change by doing the control, mouse wheel thing. It doesn't affect the font in the task bar, nor my AOL mailbox.

      Thanks though!

Sharon are you running Windows? If so try this:

          Go to "start"
          "Control Panel"
          "appearance and Themes"
          "Display"
          "Appearance"
          Lawren

            Hi Lawren,

It's Vista, so there isn't an "Appearance and Themes" but there is an "Appearance and Personalization". That's where you can change the screen resolution or DPIs, but lowering them makes the screen blurry....

Is that what you meant or is there somewhere else I should be going?

              God I hate Vista!

If I can kick DS off the desktop (Vista) later, I'll get you the place to go for your fix. My laptop I paid more $ to keep XP on.

I hate Vista too...but I don't think I could begin to figure out how to convert this thing to XP. Thank goodness I can at least do the control/scroll thing to make the websites bigger! I may have to give up on AOL...

                  OK Try this:

                  Control Panel
                  Personalization

on the left side you will see Adjust Font Size

                  and then
                  DPI Scaling

Yeah...I had done that too. But it doesn't change the font on AOL or on the browsers.

I actually ended up contacting AOL, and they told me that the tiny font size in the norm for Vista and there is nothing that can be done to change it!

Is there any way to change to XP without stripping the whole computer?

Try contacting Microsoft or scroll through the help/search area from the Dell welcome page. IF you have a Dell.

I would be very surprised to find they haven't put a fix in for that.

I really can't help with AOL as I refuse to use it. Never have. Never will.
