  • need keyboard help

i am running on windows xp and have a logitech keyboard
all of a sudden whenever i re-start my computer my keyboard
has about a 3 second delay from when i hit the keys to them actually
showing on the screen, if i hold a button down for about 20 seconds it makes a funny noise and then the problem is solved, but then like i said if i shutdown it starts all over again,
i tried my old keyboard and it the same thing(so i ruled out the keyboard)
i confirmed my settings with someone else and they look fine
i uninstalled the keyboard software and re-installed it and that did not work
i ran my antivirus program and nothing came up
    its driving me crazy
    any thoughts would be appreciated

Time for a new computer. If not, check the connections again.

      Vikingboy,

Which Logitech keyboard is it ?

Unless it is a super duper all whizz-bangs, there should be know software to install as XP has the the necessry HID drivers built in.

Let me have the model and I will get back to you asap.

Can't find a ysa 859 , must be something else.

Have you got another keyboard to try to rule out the Logitech one ?

Also, have a look in control panel > System > Device manager and see if there are any conflicts with anything.

In your first post you mentioned abut "keyboard software" - canyou expand what the software is ?

Second thing. Can you remember when this first started to happen ?

If so, try doing a system restore back to that date. If that does not solve it, you can always return to todays settings

im sorry, i dont speak well in computer terms
i deleted the keyboard program and them when i restarted it searched
and downloaded the newest version, but that did not solve it

big frank mentioned also about doing a restore,it was probally about a month ago, iwas holding that off as a last solution

                thanks for your time
by all means if you have any other ideas please let me know

                thanks again
