You need to look around for a program which puts a watermark on your photos, and use it every time you post to the web. That's the only way I know to stop them.

Did you email the person and ask them not to use it? What did they say? I had somebody steal the better part of a whole web page of mine once. When I wrote them, they said I should be "flattered" that they thought it was good enough to use! Can you believe that? What nerve.,,

Your pictures once you post them on our site gets the little timshareforums water mark. Who ever got that picture got it some other way or they figured how to remove the water mark.

Back in "the day" when I was a Power Seller of timeshare weeks and space on eBay and elsewhere I would always have someone steal my ads. Those too lazy to write there own ads would copy and paste word for word (including a typo I always included to prove it was mine) and pretend ignorance when questioned about it. eBay has a rule about intellectual property that could come to play in this instance. I used it several times for both written word and pictures. eBay would take the site down and then if it continued eventually ban the offender.

          Hi Frank,

I knew that what you said was true. I must have posted on another picture site. There is a camera watermark on the picure on ebay. I really don't care that someone used the picture but the hula girl might.

I just check Photobucket and the picture was posted there. This must be where they got the picture.

Copying an image once it's posted on the internet is simple, and virtually unstoppable. Watermarking does help to discourage some, but the determined can even remove watermarks.

When I bitched, they eventually removed it. But in the end they were much smarter than I. They had a great domain name and eventually sold it for mucho dinero. I don't know exactly, but let's say it was at least in the hundreds of thousands, if not more.

One time I got pointed to a timeshare reseller who had copied the entire Timesharing 101 article off the TUG website and posted it to his site and was passing it off as his work.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                      “You shouldn't wear that body.”
