Anyone have a recommendation on a small portable DVD player for children to watch DVDs on while traveling?

My advice... Don't spend much $$$ on them. We have went through several of them. We have tried high end expensive models as well as cheap "Black Friday" specials. They work well at first, but then the constant jostling in the van seems to ruin them. I think the apex model lasted the longest out of all of the ones that we purchased.

Our kids are now old enough that we switched to ipods -- video ipod and the ipod touch.

    my two cents...

My dd bought one for herself at Target and paid less than $100. I don't remember the brand, but if I rememer I'll check when I get home and post it. She's only used it a couple of times, but so far has been pleased.

I had a nice Toshiba one that I got on Woot a few years back. I gave it to my parents when their DVD player broke. It's still working, as far as I know. They use it as a DVD player mostly, with the cables going to the TV set.

The DVD player dd bought at Target is a RCA. Battery life is 3 hours.
