    offerwire.com
Has anyone ever gone thru them?

I called comcast to hook up for high speed internet.
$24.99 for the first 6 months, then the price jumps up a lot. I would disconnect after 6 months to go up north anyhow.
the comcast rep recommended I buy the modem at Best Buy and call back with the number and get service.
I mentioned to a neighbor who said he saw a deal at offerwire.com, $19.99 for Comcast for 6 months, free modem after rebate. I called and could barely understand the person i spoke with (my neighbor warned me about this experience), and I did not go through with it.
I checked online saw the offer too .

I called comcast and they said they could not give me that offer, but there are a lot of offers out there like that.

so has anyone heard of offerwire.com, is it legit, and what are the chances of getting the rebate money $59.95 for the model and 14.95 shipping.
They also wanted to have an installer come to the house for $50 (but I would not want to get that, I think it would not be hard to install myself)

Is it common to have offers like this out there?.

I will be checking tomorrow on my very slow speed dial up connection.

I used Wirefly.com to get my cell phones. They would set up the Verizon service, provide the phones and get pretty much everthing going. Received the phones at a discount much better than I would from the Verizon website.

Where they make their money is off the top, so to speak. Verizon pays them as long as I continue with the services I requested and do not make changes to the plan.

I believe that is how offerwire would work, but that is only a guess.

BTW-I have received other offers from wirefly, one is for dishnetwork at a better then any other price I have seen. I may do that too.

I now have comcast internet service.
I decided not to go thru offerwire - I just wondered how good a company could be if they hired someone with a thick accent and a speech impediment as their sole phone answerer.
They wanted me to pay $50 installation, Comcast charged me 20. I am renting a modem for now as they have none at the stores, but at $3 a month it won't kill me. I tried to buy my neighbors, but when the tech called the modem number in, they said it wouldn't support it. anyhow, i am estatic to not be using dial up.
also bought a wireless keyboard and mouse, but haven't installed yet. another small step into the 21st centruy.

Unbelievable, I went out for the afternoon, came back and tried to get on line. i could not. called comcast, they said the installer must not have completed the installation, they will send out a tech in 5 days to correctly install.
