  • A new start (home) page

I have used Yahoo as my start page for years. It appears that on Wednesday I will be forced over to their new high tech page. If I have to learn something new, this might be a good time to look around at other good start pages.

What is your start (home) page, would you recommend it, and why?

    Thanks

My isp is Verizon with AOL as my start page. I like it cause it gives me latest news and stock quotes.

I've been using igoogle.com (Google's personalized page) for a couple years now. Quite easy to configure and allows "tabs" to organize your items into separate sections. It has a ton of user-contributed items (stock quotes, news, RSS feeds, calendars, games, weather, etc.) that you can add to personalize your page.

A blank page on my local machine.

When my parent were alive, a local designed page that constain all the chinese links they cared, just in case when they visit.

Maybe with kids growing, some page that contains links I don't mind they visit.

You can open Word and insert all the link you like, and save them as HTML, than in the option, point to that page.

Why limit to 1 home screen when you can have more!

iGoogle is really good. However, my home page is a bit different.
I use Firefox and I have 4 tabs open when I start Firefox. It is pretty slick. I have my Gmail screen, timeshareforums, and a couple of other sites opening automatically.

            Here is what I did:
In Firefox, go to Tools | Options
In the Main tab, at the Home Page field, type in the sites seperated by a | and save the settings.

            Example:
"www.google.com/ig|www.timeshareforums.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew|www.rci.com|www.techcrunch.co m" (no need for the quotes.)

Just an FYI -- you can do that in IE as well. In Internet Options, just specify multiple URLs as your home page.

I'm agreeing with Kurt as I have used IGoogle for many, many years for my home page & I also agree with Kurt using IE adding more than one URL for your home page, just use enter after each URL.

I don't use Yahoo for my home page but I use Yahoo all the time, guess I'm already using the new format as I have seen nothing "new" on this "High Tech" stuff you speak-of. Been using the "new" stuff for some months now, what am I missing here?
