Gopro might be a good one. Their only products seem to be go pro cameras and accessories. It could be that go pro gets bought out by a large company or grows into something bigger than go pro cameras. The ipo went nuts. Anyway, grpo is on my watch list.

It's a great product for sure. If they can somehow work in Zoom capability for distance that would take this camera to the next level.

By the way... DW who does not know anything about investing called to tell about the IPO that we knew was taking place, but did not know exactly when... Wants me to buy in . But I am more of a long term investor.

This one does not necessary fit my profile.. But it might be a good toy investment.

Im not a fan of ipo's. If an institutional investor sells off after the lock up it could make the stock tank. Im watching for now. It will be interesting tomorrow to see which way it heads. I might buy some just to dump it in before the lock up ends.

Go Pro is on a dip because some semi famous guy was injured using a gopro. This and probably because the Nasdaq index has been the biggest loser in this October slump. The gopro will be on many peoples christmas shopping list this year so it could end up a money maker.

Holy moly Bill, Michael Schumacher is Formula 1 racing legend. The GoPro/mount is suspected to have affected the integrity of the helmet. Michael has a brain injury and he can't walk and talk yet.

Here is a tip, don't attach one to the grandkids helmets for Christmas.

Well Carol, you made me google. It couldn't have been the rock he smacked while skiing in an off limit or unsecured area that has anything to do with his accident because he is such a good driver.

Anyway, Im betting the holiday gift season will make this a money maker.

OK so if you are an F1 race driver don't stick a GoPro to your helmet. This is indeed a sad story, hope he recovers. But any foreign object could interfere with the integrity of a safety helmet.

This does not take away from the overall usefulness of the GoPro.

Maybe Michael Schumacher isn't big news there, maybe helmets aren't common either, but he is big news in Europe, Australia and Asia. The young ones here and Europe want Go Pros for fast sports and extreme sports.

GoPro Inc's shares fell as much as 16 per cent on Monday after a French journalist suggested that Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher's injuries in a ski accident last year might have been caused by a wearable camera made by the company.

"The problem for Michael was not the hit, but the mounting of the GoPro camera that he had on his helmet that injured his brain," Jean-Louis Moncet told radio station Europe 1 over the weekend.

The kids here have changed the usage. DS and his friends have all built their own quadcopters and I've noticed that they aren't attaching the GoPro so much these days (fear of loss or damage). There are fewer motorcycle riders using them too I've noticed.

I feel your a bit off Carol. The gopro is the 19th top selling electronic item sold on amazon.

                    http://www.amazon.com/gp/most-gifted...3HX9GA6X939ZP3

If you take away the amazon electronic products off the list the gopro ranks 4th in top electronic gifts. My thought is the gopro will be a top holiday gift in the USA and thats really what matters. The news of the Schumacher injury is free advertising for gopro and has helped to created a dip and a buying opportunity. This could be the next neflix type dealio as far as stocks go, imo.

You are probably right, I certainly don't have any idea about the US market.

Did you see "Hagens Berman Investigating Potential GoPro-Related Injuries and Interference with Avalanche Beacons"?

SEATTLE, Oct 14, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hagens Berman is currently investigating whether GoPro GPRO, -2.14% may have misled consumers by failing to disclose dangerous risks associated with its cameras and camera-mounting devices. Studies have shown that the cameras may interfere with avalanche beacons, and their use by mounting on helmets may lead to serious injury or death, according to recently published reports.
