  • NFLX dip

Netflix dipped pretty good today. 26% dip. I was bumped out but will be watching as this is one of my favorites.

Part of the dip might be due to time warner announcing HBO streaming as competion for Netflix. Even if HBO streams they would have to play catch up to Netflix as Netflix has expanded its service to 40 countries.

I had Net flix years ago. I canceled when I went oi Block buster. I was thinking of rejoining but never did because they were not to good. A month ago my son Joined, I said why would you want Netflix they have old movies. He said the streaming shows and movies are great. From what I recall they had very old not great movies years ago and the streaming stunk. Well I ate my words there online viewing has gotten so much better. We seem to watch something on his TV every night. Me and him started watching Blue mountain State the other night and we just finished season 2 last night.

Any idea what a good buy in price might be?

Showing $115 drop premarket. It has gone through my put credit spread, but luckily my expiration isn't until Nov. My call credit spread will make full profit.
It may have more to drop today and maybe tomorrow. That is normal for earnings, but with this market dropping, who knows how long it may drop.

It probably dropped because HBO announced that they would begin a la carte streaming of their shows in 2015.

They reported earnings yesterday. Their subscription level is down 1.3 million. Expectations were 4 million increase.
HBO and Time Warner streaming subscription services will certainly hurt NFLX.

We have seen Netflix do this before. Remember back when they switched up the streaming and cd's. Netflix market price really dipped to about $60 something a share. I bought at $75 and $80 as it was going down. .

Netfix has expanded service to 40 countries and does a decent job of streaming. Going into winter I think many people will be staying indoors and watching tv, so Im thinking there will be a bump in subscribers. Netflix is easy to use and even if time warner gives away HBO, the programming is limited.

As far as price some feel Netflix could drop to $260 a share. I think that is lower than what most would expect. Im back in at $333.

I was going to buy a small amount at $300 but it looks like that is not going to happen. At $375 so $330 was the low it had just hit

Bought on Monday @ just under $360. Considering that NFLX was over $466 just a couple of weeks ago it still looks good to me.
