Astra Zeneca was developing a cancer treatment that didn't work out but it looks like it may be a treatment of Alzheimers and dementia. This drug has already been through trials for cancer patients so the drug isn't a 10 - 15 year down the road dealio. Im watching this new drug and AZN because if it reverses or stabilizes dementia associated problems the stock could take off.

The drug, which was developed by AstraZeneca, had already cleared testing in animals and had even had safety testing done in humans. The team was also helped by a program from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences that seeks to test existing pharmaceutical assets for new therapeutic uses.
The Yale team gave saracatinib to mice experiencing memory loss and build-up of beta-amyloid. Four weeks later, the mice showed complete reversal of spatial learning and memory loss, they reported in the journal Annals of Neurology.
A Phase I safety trial of the drug in humans has already been conducted by the researchers. They are in the midst of enrolling 152 patients for a Phase II trial, in which participants will receive either saracatinib or a placebo for a year.

Nope. I wonder what it is ?

I am reading that the cancer drug that seems to reverse dementia in 4 weeks has been through clinical trials.

Yup. I read it all and to me what it says it that this drug has passed phase 1 testing with official results posted. If you read the bottom section of the link you will find a link that is the Yale study of this drugs in clinical trials.

            Here is that other link.

            The study results posted dealio.

            No Study Results Posted

When results are not available for a study, the results tab is labeled "No Study Results Posted." Results of a study may not be posted on ClinicalTrials.gov for any of the following reasons:

The study may not be subject to U.S. Federal requirements to submit results. See FDAAA 801 Requirements: When Do I Need to Register and Submit Results?
            The study is ongoing.
The study has been completed, but the deadline for results submission has not passed.
The results have been submitted but have not yet been posted (for example, pending review by ClinicalTrials.gov).
The submission of results information has been delayed by the submission of a certification or a request to extend the results submission deadline. See FDAAA 801 Requirements: When Do I Need to Register and Submit Results?
