Wow! You would have had to call EMS for me as I would have had a heart attack.

I think he told them not to, too great a photo op.

I do wonder what that elk had in mind -- he seemed a little tentative...

REminds me of my 8 ft. away shot of a bull moose in a gully- except the moose just took occasion looks at me and kept feeding. It was summer, I wouldn't have done it in the fall. I got a better camera the next year.

I know, I think if the elk wanted to really hurt him, it would have. It seemed like he wanted to snuzzle more than anything.

I was bear watching and in the berry bushes were the bears. I had a good shot at a big cinnamon bear that morning. As we climbed down the cliff we noticed a rumbling to our left in the brush. It was a big brown bear. We quickly turned back and went up the cliff. The bear started after us and was climbing the cliff but wasn't able to climb a 15 ft. ledge. Im glad it didn't make it up as I was shaking so hard I could barely load the 12 ga. when we got back on top. By now Im loaded and noticed that the bear was chattering its teeth at us. It was a good distance below us but we decided to leave.

We had dropped both cameras and decided not to go back to get them. Now I want to get a drone to fly my go pro to the bears. Frank and Billy have such good ideas on gadgets, especially when you combine them.

That was too close for comfort. That elk could have hurt him if he wanted to but he was rather gentle except a few time when he gave the man a harder nudge.
