HomeWay has announced that they have reached an agreement in which Expedia will acquire HomeAway for $38.31 per share in cash and Expedia common stock.
They anticipate that closing will take place sometime in the first quarter of 2016.
The most significant change appears to be the introduction of a traveler service fee in the first half of 2016.
I didn't see any details of how that would be implemented, but I expect it will be pushed into the HomeAway Payments module which they have been pushing relentlessly over the last year.
I doubt this impacts many timeshare owners, since the advertising costs in those venues are quite high- but still believed it to be notable enough to mention.
