    My first night dive!

If I hadn't been diving all week with these two I think the nervous me would have won the argument with the "you may never get this opportunity again" me. So glad I went. We saw eels and lobster, some really cool tree shaped anenomies, white sea urchin and were accompanied by Charlie the resident house reef tarpon. 45 minutes flew by and we all 3 came up with over 1000psi.

I've taken huge steps towards being a "diver" instead of a "passenger" this week. I even assembled everything the last 2 times, correctly without over thinking it. I have a long way to go but I cannot see how this could have worked out any better. Karma.

Last full day tomorrow, I think we are going to do 2 more off-site shore dives. It is hard to grasp that I have been diving all week and have been on a boat once.
Seriously, sista!!! We need a mermaid emoticon. Or at least a scuba diver. You're hardcore now!!!

I think you should take the leap and learn to dive, HM. March is coming.

It is probably the best gift I have ever given myself and without Glitter I'd still be snorkeling on the surface.

Now more than ever I'd like to go to Belize or back here works too. I had met a pair of people in GCM in 2014 who did shore diving. hmmmm.

            Last day

            2 off site shore dives.

The first was Alice in Wonderland.

This Dive offers a chance to really experience the double reef. Care should be taken to watch your depth gauge, especially when crossing from one reef to the other. Depth 30-100 feet (10-30 meters)

Easy peasy entry and the first reef is close and not deep. The 3 of us swam out to the second reef. Hung out at around 70 feet for a good long time. This place is amazing. Found a superhighway of sorts for fish and I could have hovered all day and been happy, moving on we found a couple of eels.

I started laughing when we came to the wrasse cleaning station. Tons of them and the Bonaire version seems to be bright royal purple with a black edging to the beak. All of a sudden I'm laughing because they remind me of those little parrots that gather on phone wires and make such a racket. Luckily the new mask is forgiving of smiles and laughter. Thank you Tusa.

Swimming back we saw the mother of all stingrays. Huge.

The second reef is just as lively but at 30-45 feet. Too much to mention. Overwhelmed. Dive time 52 minutes. We all walked out of the water like pros. No waves and a sand exit help. A lot.

The last dive of the vacation was at the end of the airport runway. Named aptly enough Windsock. Another no wave action very sandy ingress and egress.

We saw all the usual suspects and concentrated our dive in a smaller area just observing macro life. No current, 75ft visability, short swim to the reef line over a sandy bottom that mostly ends at the drop off, and welcome to yet another great shore dive on Bonaire! I thought my favorite flavor of fish, the queen angel, was going to kiss my mask. That close.

            What a wonderful vacation!!!

OK kids are you sitting down?

I did 9 shore dives,a 2 tank boat dive and bought 6 days of unlimited air. My tab at the dive shop came to $232.49USD + equipment rental of $225/week

Plus a dinner, a lunch and gas for the pickup truck to pay for the karma.

ETA equipment rental I knew something was missing.
