  • Spirit Air giving free flights.

I just flew Spirit Air this weekend to the Dominican Republic and on the way back the stewardess was hawking the Spirit Air credit card.

They give you a free flight when you apply for the card and get approved.
I guess it's kind of like AA's card except with AA you can't get a free flight with 25K miles anymore.

They also said that if you get the credit card you can get first dibs on their $9 fares.

Any of you a member of the Spirit Credit card?

It looks like a good deal to me. I'm going to try and get it.

      Frank,
I've only flown them this one time since American wanted $500 for the same flight and I got this one for $285. I figured, why not? Well, I was pleasantly surprised how friendly they were from gate agents to the flight attendants.

American gives notoriously bad service to the Dominican Republic and have had a monopoly for so many years that I'm trying to patronize the startups in hopes of keeping the fares low. I don't want it to go back to the $400 to $500 for a flight days with AA. These are the times that I really miss Pan Am.
