  • Atlantic City Timeshare for cost of transfer

I own a timeshare in Brigantine NJ or essentially Atlantic City. Haven't used it in over 5 years and currently UNEMPLOYED. First lucky person who wants it can have it for FREE. Just pay the cost to transfer the deed which is about $400. The maintenance fee is $499 a year and its due now. We can work something out to get it paid but I cant afford to pay the maintenence and the transfer fee. Its a penthouse studio week #44 (Red Week).

I paid $8000 for this unit back in 1987. Some say its worth $12K but I wont pay an agency upfront to sell it. There are too many timeshare resell scammers out there. No catch. I just dont want to pay yearly maintenance fees for something I never use. Checkout property yourself:

      Celebrity

The last company you want anything to do with is Celebrity Resorts. Thank goodness my lease in Hawaii expired this year. They are the worst when it comes to customer service, and one of the best when it comes to adding on special accessments. Take a look at any of their properties and you can rent them directly from Celebrity for about half the cost of what an owners maintenance fees are for the same unit. Take about screwing their owners. My week was a floating fall week, yet this year they were loosing the lease on the property and told the owners that they could only take a reservation up to May. Pay your maintenance fee, but we cannot guarantee you will get your week as we will no longer hold the lease. Now that is customer service.

Sorry, but anyone who told you it's worth 12k was a con artist looking for an upfront fee. Giving it away is probably the most effective way to end your liability.

            Welcome to TS4Ms!!!

Wk44 may well be "Red" in your book, but unfortunately it is not really as there are many shades of red. This one is definitely pale pink/off-white. Sorry for your misfortune and wish you the best of luck.

I'm afraid that I will echo what's been said here. You might even have a hard time giving it away. If it were two bedrooms, right in the middle of summer you might have a chance to give it away or get a little bit for it, but a studio week 44 is a tough one.

Your best bet will be to try and rent it or deposit it, or use it yourself.

Be aware that for both Brigantine Inn and Villas- ownership transfers are subject to a $100. estoppels fee and a $200. transfer fee in addition to the deeding costs.

You may want to list it on Ebay with a starting bid of $1 and no reserve. You will reach a larger audience that way. Good luck.
