Thank you for your kind offer. Can you post the maintenance fees for these units?

these were last years fees at Celebrity $775 and at Grand Lake $685 the one at Grand Lake is floating wks(1-20,36-45,48-50) Celebrity charges a $100 resort transfer fee and I believe there is a member here that charges $150 to do a deed transfer

Adush, have you tried craigslist? You can list there for free. Also, many people have had good luck on redweek.com. I think it costs $15 to join but then you can list all of them at $1, $10, etc. You don't pay a commission (I think).
Most people here have way too many timeshares to take you up on your offer now, but we appreciate your generosity.

I think the word "free" in the timeshare industry is scary to most people.

Pretty soon, Free will not be so scary, I expect Free to be the most common expression in timeshare in the coming years

I know what you mean I just don't know what else to do I have been taken by timeshare resellers and a couple of charities I have even listed them myself it's a tough call if you list them cheap people think it's a scam if you list them for a few grand it's too expensive I made a mistake when I bought these I did not do my homework a few years back I bought 5 timeshares on ebay thinking I could resell them for a profit and thought after seeing the same timeshares listed on those timeshare resale sites for $14000-$17000 and how much people were actually paying the resorts for them I said even if I sell each for $3000-$5000 I would make a killing boy was I wrong but I have used everyone of them with my wife and 3 kids and have had great time I just can't afford the fees on 5 of them so I am giving away 3 of them no strings attached

It is good that you got many vacations and good times with them. That is what it should be all about.
Many young families love to go to Orlando. I think you should be able to give them away. Also you can list them for $1 on ebay with no reserve, just stipulate that the buyer has to pay closing costs.

I have looked at TSs on ebay, haven't noticed many selling. How much does it cost to list a property there, anyway? $30-35?

this is amazing here is the latest email I received from a charity that I tried to donate the timeshares to (Thank you for your interest in donating your timeshare, our brokers have reviewed your property and have determined that your property is less desirable than others in the area and due to the current state of the economy we are not able to accept the property under our standard donation program. We do have two other donation programs available to you. The first one is our guaranteed donation program, where the property will be deeded out of your name within eight weeks, the fee for this program would be $1,299.00 and this fee would also be tax deductible in addition to the deduction you will receive for the property itself. The second program is our closing fee program and you would have to agree to pay the closing fees in the amount of $899.00 and our brokers will list the property with a free closing to potential buyers. You have no obligation to proceed with the donation at this point, if you decide to proceed with one of these programs we guarantee that the donation will go through or you will receive a full refund. Please also keep in mind that you will still receive a donation receipt for the property itself in addition to a receipt for the costs. The IRS allows deeded property donors to determine the fair market value of their donation up to $5,000.00 without an appraisal and for non deeded properties up to $500.00. Appraisals are recommended on all donations.

If you would like to proceed with either the guaranteed donation program or the closing fee program please send a check or money order made payable to Resort Closings, Inc. to the address below along with the attached documents, a copy of your recorded deed and a copy of your satisfaction of mortgage. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Please note, no maintenance fee reimbursements are collected on properties sold with free closings so if you would like to retain the current year's usage please let us know at the time you send in the documents.

Due to the time of year and upcoming maintenance fees becoming due you will be asked to pay the 2010 maintenance fee as well, the closing company will obtain the amount of the fee and request it from you at the time of closing.

***Please note we will cover up to $200.00 in fees to transfer your ownership. Any fees in excess of this amount will be your responsibility.

                            Thank you,

                            Crystal Dalke
