We have about 5 inches here in Central Long Island right now. The forecast is for it to continue throughout the night.

I hate to think how bad it is going to be in the morning.

I was supposed to leave for Boston tomorrow and decided to drive up today instead. (We have some appointments on Monday.) So glad I did, since it's after 10 p.m. and does not appear to be snowing here yet!

We, Californians (southern), don't know what we are missing. It looks so beautiful but it is cold and with a lot of inconveniences that you can do without.

As of 11:00 PM, Philly airport has 16" of snow on the ground with a few more inches expected. Most snow for a December storm in 100 years. Eagles game tomorrow has been changed from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. I am so glad I took that bump last night or I would still be stuck in Washington! When I left Savannah last night it was 60 degrees and a whopping 26 when I got home this morning.

At my house, we have about 19 inches on the ground. Believe the "official" at Reagan Airport is about 15 inches. Need to get shoveled out We don't plan to venture out again today, but maybe tomorrow.

It's lovely, but I'm not a snow person. Hopefully next week at this time I'll be in Florida.

LOL Marti - then u KNOW it is a lot of snow.

It is still snowing here on eastern LI - hard to tell how much as we have had really high winds but there are areas that look in the 15 inch range. I made DH put the SUV at the end of the driveway so we will need to dig out just one car tomorrow and ride into work together.

Glad Sharon left early and Joy, have a cup a coffee and look out the window - it is REALLY pretty!

EDIT - I had DH go out and clear the snow off the bird feeder and when he came back in, I measured where the snow was on his leg - 18 inches in my front yard.
Our deck out back has sliding doors, the snow is 19 inches against the doors - and that is not counting the places where it has drifted.
                        And it is still snowing.

We usually get the highest accumulations in the state, but once in a while we catch a break. All done snowing here and we got about 1/2" with drifts almost 1". Can't decide whether to sweep or shovel.

Still snowing here in Boston, with severe weather warnings into the late afternoon. The hotel is packed with stranded travelers. Very glad we are already checked in!

27 inches here! Poor DS - 24 yo - has to do the shoveling as DH still is not cleared to do anything with his chest muscles following the heart surgery. I will help him with the electric shovel after he clears a path. It is a soft powdery snow and not a wet mushy snow.

What is an "electric shovel?" From the pics, it looks like there is only about a foot at my house in western Nassau, I'm headed out there a bit later -- less is better for sledding, but I guess we can always switch to the snowman plan...
