Oh crap, it's coming down. Started with sleet/rain/snow mixed, now just snow. They are calling for 6 to 8 inches. I know that's not much for up north, but it will be devastating here!! I have to get Kelli & her friend at work at 5 pm. Right at rush hour!! Oy vay!! Wish me luck, taking my Honda instead of my Mini. shaggy
50 Million People in Path of Winter Storm
by Tim Ballisty
4pm Friday Update: With computer weather models continuing the trend for a major nor'easter along the Northeast coast, the local offices of the National Weather Service in New York and Boston are responding.
Blizzard watches are now in effect for central and eastern Long Island, Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts.
This is becoming an increasingly dangerous winter storm forecast complete with high snowfall rates, blinding snow and strong, damaging winds. This is especially the case along the Jersey, Delaware, Long Island and southern New England coastlines.
Meanwhile, the potential for a major dumping of snow measured in feetin some places is scary enough for parts of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
Here's a collection of links with much more on this significant winter storm.

Long Islanders are under a BLIZZARD Warning Angela - so u better get shopping today.
What?
I just got back in from shopping, and have not heard any weather updates until this thread....I still have so much more to buy that I'm just completely overwhelmed.
It's my own fault tho. I always leave my Xmas shopping to the last minute.
Angela
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
They are even calling for 4 to 8 inches here in the piedmond of NC. Kelli is dreading tomorrow. She is going in tomorrow at 8:30 which is very early for her. The S word drives me crazy as everyone rushes to the store to buy milk and bread. If we get any accumulation at all there will be wrecks everywhere and we will be shut down for days. Stay warm, Shaggy
Our son's UA flight from Soeul-Tokyo-Washington-Toronto was cancelled, and they put him on a Korean Air flight direct to Toronto. He had to wait an additional 9 hours before departure, but he arrives home only an hour later than on the original flight! By 8:00 p.m. tonight, I'll get to hug my boy!
Great news for you. Our neighbor is due in today from Korea. Haven't talked to his wife, but know she is anxious to see him and wondering if he'll make it. Unfortunately, there is probably no alternate way for him than Dulles.
Here in the south DC suburbs, we probably have 8 inches and it is snowing hard. Guess next year, I'll lose the battle of staying here to spend Christmas with grandkids because DH keeps saying we'd be in FL if you hadn't wanted to spend Christmas with the kids!
My DD and BF are at Newark Airport - and it is not snowing there yet.
Her plane left Belfast on time and is over Canada now with an on time arrival of 1:45 - her flight is suppose to take off for Costa Rica at 3:15 and she is on the line to check in.
I got up at 2:30 AM and there was just a dusting of snow. When I got up again at 5:30 There were several inches. 8:AM a white out. Visibility was terrible. Now at 11:30 AM about a foot on dh's car and still coming down strongly.
Glad the gk's are not here. I'd have to go out and play in it and I hate cooooold.
I made it last night. It took me forever as Kelli's friend lives out in the country. It took me a long time cause I drove slowly . There were cars & trucks in the ditches. Lucky for me I didn't end up in one. I did get stuck in Kathy's driveway but I got out finally.
Kelli's boss called a little while ago and wanted to know if she was coming in tomorrow? What about today. Told him I'd get here there. He said a lot of people were calling in for tomorrow. The roads should be ok by then.
