And starting at 12:25 - REALLY Eastern LI has snow.

But still NONE at Newark Airport!
DD reports that one out of three flights are cancelled but their plane is still scheduled to arrive ontime from Ireland and leave ontime.
She said it is a very nice airport - she is in terminal C - hopefully her cheerful mood will continue and she will get on the plane and take off.

Dad is on Cresskill near Tenafly/Englewood a few minutes north of the GWash Bridge - nothing there yet, either.

Marti - it doesn't count that McDonalds is open because McDs is ALWAYS open - keep us posted!

Nothing here as of yet. This is a very slow moving storm! Betting we'll get hammered over night.

It started flurrying here about noon. Now at 3:20 pm the flakes are getting bigger and it is coming down steadier. There is about 1/2 inch on the ground and in the street. The main roads are still good. I had to go to my second job today so I went early and made it back before it got heavy. My son is working until 5 pm but he only works a couple of miles away and should be fine.

Nothing here yet, just got back from shopping and I'm not sure if the stores were busier than usual or not. I usually avoid shopping on a Saturday-particularly before a storm. The latest prediction of 5-8" isn't much to panic the folks around here.

                        DD made it!
Her flight took off 26 minutes late because they were waiting for people on connecting flights from Europe.
DD said the people told them as they ran on the plane that if they missed this connection, the next flight out to Costa Rica with seats was on 12/25!

Okay, I can relax, have a bowl of home made chili and a Frangelica martini

Still snowing. I think we have about 2 feet. We've gone nowhere today and probably not tomorrow either. Monday have dental appointments, so we'll see what that brings.

                                Second Yorktown Winter

Thought the inch or so last night might be Yorktown's 2009 winter.

Got up this AM thinking all would be WHITE. Not so.

Rain had taken it all away.

Now, at 9 PM, it is 28 degrees and snow is falling. The cars are covered again.
