Well, the excitement is over for now. The sun is out and shining but the snow is off of the roads so safe to drive . We may have an ice storm xmas eve. Glad I don't live up north and have to fight the snow!! shaggy

We have a little over a foot here. The man across the street (who always has beautiful Christmas or halloween decorations outside his home) has his driveway shoveled down to the blacktop. DH isn't into shoveling so he just rode his jeep up and down the driveway a few times and pounded down the snow enough that we wont get stuck in deep snow.

6 hours out thee this morning. My snow blower never worked so good, I sent it out to get over hauled and got it back 2 weeks ago. It worked so good it ran out of gas and I could not find my gas can Tried to swap spots with my cars, I wanted to put my awd in the driveway and the rear wheel drive on the street but the 2 wheel car got stuck and it took an hour to get it back in the driveway. My back is shot now I need some drugs , To think I had tickets for todays Jets game

Frank, your sob story reminded me of Michigan life. I owned two Renaults (one for parts) and found myself changing out starters one 6 degree morning. That wound up costing me a new car purchase, as I swore "never again".

Isn't life grand? Tis the season to be jolly!

I just found out I'm off tomorrow - school is closed for a snow day.

Looks like I am playing the Taxi Driver in the morning, First dropping off the wife to work then going to pick up my MIL and taking her to work then the reverse to pick them up in the afternoon to take home. I hope my wife does not tell me she wants to go shopping during lunch

Our schools are open tomorrow - looks like we only got about a foot compared to double that further east. My dad is worried he won't get his car dug out in time for xmas eve (now that is a double round trip I could without while entertaining for 17 people).

We had a great snow day! Drove out from the city - piece of cake. Took the little ones sledding, met DS17 after work at Starbucks for hot chocolate, went out to dinner (no crowds) and came home to get the tree decorated. The only bummer was DS15's bball game got canceled - I think because they couldn't get the parking lot at the schools cleared in time. Wimps.

I will say that my VW Tiguan kicks the pants off GF's Volvo SUV in the snow.

A small electric snow thrower that's about a shovel width. Some throw the snow forward and others are adjustable. I had one that threw the snow forward only- not the best thing for cleaning up much of an area. Toro makes both kinds and there may be other manufacturers as well.

Emmy, fly up to Portland. I'll get Doug to tour you over to Mt Hood. His boys spent the weekend working in a lodge. They had 12 to 14 feet of snow.

We have plenty of snow within an hours drive. My daughter and SIL were sledding up on Mt San Jacinto this past weekend. They had about 2 feet of snow. Mt. San Jacinto is near Palm Springs about an hour from here. You take the tram up the mountain.
