Here in Cupertino I worry more about the trees that could come down then the creek that is right behind my house. A few years ago one of the trees came down and went from the other side of the creek, across the creek and halfway into our backyard. I wasn't living here at the time but I know it scared the --- out of my father n law. It took almost 4 days for a crew to cut the tree up.

      We're called the rainmakers

We seem to have some of that rain "magic." No matter where we go on vacation - even places in the middle of a drought - we manage to bring the rain. Often not just rain, but drenching downpours. We've even thought of marketing ourselves as rainmakers.

For all of you on the West Coast, stay safe. Hope the rainfall can restore the ground water supply and doesn't simply wash away. At least, you're not dealing with the frigid temps they're having in the ND area.

Need to call my Dad. The beach erosion at his place was pretty evident when I was out there in September. The heavy surf can't be a good thing.

Best wishes for all of you dealing with the bad part of living in paradise.

We had the same problem on our visits to Canada. In early August 2007 we were in British Columbia and Seattle for 2 weeks qnd we only had 3 nice days. We were in Alberta for 2 weeks in August 2005 and had the same 11 rainy cold days. It must be a western Canada problem with us because we were in Ontario in July 2008 and the weather was perfect.
