Following on from Lawren's thread about the cost of driving licence renewals, I thought it would be interesting to compare the cost of passport renewals.
This year, Australian Passports cost
$208 AUD for an adult 32 page, 10 year passport and
$104 AUD for a child (under 18 years old) 32 page, 5 year passport
Plus the cost of photos $12.50 AUD per person
Total $557.50 AUD (equivalent to $495 USD) for 2 Adults + 1 Child
I also renewed 2 x Adult (over 16 years old) European Union Passports via the British High Commission at a cost of $293 AUD each.
Plus photos of $12.50 AUD per person.
Total $611 AUD (equivalent to $543 USD) for 2 Adult passports.
Sure bumps up the cost of a holiday
