As far back as I remember, we have enjoyed the outdoors. And have always enjoyed combining a day out exploring with a picnic somewhere along the way.
When we lived in NY, we often went to our local area park on the weekend, for a walk and a picnic. Sometimes we would drive along the Taconic Parkway to a little park (at that time it was called Mohansic Park, but later was renamed FDR Park...hated that name change)....and we would enjoy the sounds of families playing while we walked the trails and ended our visit with a picnic.
Here in AZ, there are lots of opportunities to enjoy the parks, both local and national parks. When we plan a day at the parks, it is a real picnic, not just a sandwich and a drink....we pack a basket with the works, salad, soup if it is cold out, plates and cutlery, fruit, crackers and cheese, and a main dish...a picnic feast.
Where do you like to picnic? What are you favorite picnic foods?
