I've thrown out a lot of things in the last 12 months. My 5 milk crates of vinyl lps? They'll have to take out of my cold dead hands. There is nothing that comes close to the manual effort and the actual depth of sound. Vinyl is making a come back here in the US of A.

I still have a few singles on vinyl as well. 45RPM. Could shoot my mom for tossing the 78RPM stuff I grew up with. Not easy getting a turntable that can handle those.

        is this a record

When we were kids we had 78s titled uncle josh and the airplane and in the automobile does anyone remember these? We rolled them down a big hill in our yard and ruined them. I guess that is why antiques are valuable.

No but I remember Lollipop Town.

Does anyone remember the records that came with a soft cover book? The record would read the book to you and after each would say "turn the page..." My dog and I would sit by the record player for hours on end.

          I am a valuable antique.

I was a DJ in my younger days, Believe it or not I still have about 2,000 records stored in a cubby hole in my basement. Some of those albums are worth money.

How big was the hole ?

If you can't push a standard wooden pencil though it, it is a 33 or 78 RPM. If your pinky barely fits the hole, it's a CD or DVD. If you can get 2 fingers in the hole, it's a 45 RPM.

No, but I remember the 45 singles that you could cut out from the back of cereal boxes.

MY husband has a pile of albums I was tempted to throw them out but i knew he would not be happy with me if i did. It was probably wise not to.
