I am due to arrive at BWI at 9:05 am on Sunday, and have to catch an Amtrak train to Union Station, WAS. The next train leaves at 9:35. I am not familiar with the logistics of getting from the airport to the train station. Is 1/2 enough? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I haven't done it in years, but no, I don't think half an hour is enough time to get from BWI to the train station in Baltimore.
But don't the Amtrak trains to Washington run pretty frequently? Are you trying to make some other connection in Washington?
They also have commuter trains from Baltimore to Washington. I can ask my friend who used to live in Baltimore and commute to Washington--there's a light rail or something.

Jacki, I found this article about it. I was thinking of the MARC trains. They seem to go straight from BWI to Washington. Would that help?

That article says...
If you arrive on a weekend and cannot take the MARC train, take Amtrak. Service from the BWI Rail Station starts at 6:23 a.m. and ends at 11:48 p.m. weekdays and 11:51 p.m. weekends. The trip is 30 minutes to Union Station. From $12 each way.

Is there Amtrak service direct from the BWI rail station to Union Station, Washington?
Or how about an airport bus? Not the city bus that the article talks about, but a bus that takes travelers from the airport to the city, like at the NYC airports?

I am actually heading to Arlington, so I'll grab a metro from Union Station.Jacki

Just an idea.

Thank you all for your help, and to Marti who e-mailed me and told me where to pick up the shuttle to the depot.Jacki
