Pentagon or Pentagon City (Different metro stops)? Either one take metro from Union Station (Red line - only one that goes thru Union Station) toward Shady Grove. Go 2 stops to Gallery Place. At Gallery Place go downstairs and get on Yellow Line toward Huntington. Be sure you get on Yellow Line not Green. The first station after you go over the Potomac River is Pentagon and second is Pentagon City.

After you get off Amtrak at Union Station, you need to follow signs (or ask) how to get to Metro. It's down 2 levels.

I doubt you would make it. The walk to pick up the shuttle is going to be 5-15 min depending on your gate. The shuttle runs every 10-15 min(maybe less on the weekend, don't know) The ride to the BWI amtrak takes about 5-10 min depending on traffic (usually not much) but still the probability of an on time or early flight, close gate, shuttle bus arriving within 1-2 min of arriving at the stop, and no traffic backups doesn't seem high. But there's no reason not to try. Do you feel lucky?

Well it turns out that my flight arrives at 9:15, not 9:00, so there is no way I'll make the 9:35 Amtrak. I will be taking the 10:53.
