NC lodging, Rocky Mount to North Wilkesboro

This coming week we plan to ram in NC with SIL looking at real-estate. We’ll roam between Rocky Mount and North Wilkesboro.

We'll require lodging for 4 adults for at least 2 or 3 nights. B & Bs may fit the bill, but may be a waste due to our pawing over what we've seen and map planning for the next day.

Not necessarily wishing 2 nights in the same place. SIL wishes to scout the region for relocating, when her home sells in MI.

Have any of you experienced swell one-night accommodations within 30 miles of the I-40/US-421 corridor?

Bingham Inn

This historic inn is in our neck of the woods, and close to one of the best Mexican restaurants in the universe. and I know folks who've stayed there and liked it - I'm not sure of your route, but it came to mind:
