  • Has anyone heard from Bezerk latey?

I see that she was online yesterday, but she has not posted in a while. The last time I heard from her, she was taking a vacation and then having more tests. Since then I have been to Mazatlan for 5 weeks, had my grandson here for a few weeks and had some out of town guests, so I am just getting back into my routine. It dawned on me that I have not heard anything from her. Has anyone else?

Yes, I heard she was enjoying her vacation - had a few set backs but for the most time enjoyed herself with her family.
I am sure she will post in the near future, I do know sometimes she just comes and reads a bit when she has the time.

      Thanks Grayfal!!!

Update: ( Pittle thanks for your inquiry)....
Have been missing you all. My chemo brain ( fog) is clearing substantially. The hip is good but the wrist still a problem. Will have to go back to orthopedic Dr. I think I may have broken another bone in there...I am just so sick of appts. and Dr's.

So hubby & I went to PV. The journey by car was uneventful, until arrival when driver's side window motor sounded funny and window was having hard time going up. WE were glad it happened there as opposed to while we were traveleing as there are many toll booths and would have been a big inconvenience. OUr arrival day was a saturday, all was fine Sat & sunday. I was so happy to be back at Velas Vallarta Resort and PV for that matter as I thought I might never see it again. Monday we put car into Dodge dealer for repair. Monday late afternoon dark clouds roll into out lives again.......I am not feeling well. I have exorcist vomiting all night, figure must have ate something bad....or course you never can tell from where since it can be immediate illness or up to 5 days. Tuesday morning I feel weak but will see what happens....I eat very lightly and drink lightly ( non-alcohol) throughout day, afternoon same thing, exorcist vomiting......We have anniversary plans with two other couples weds. night so I email them and say think I better cancel and if not better in a day will go to Dr. or hospital. Ask for their suggestions on Dr's since they live in PV. Well, one of the couples is having none of this they are picking us up in 30 minutes and bringing me to hospital.... I feel so sick I cannot argue.

They bring me to ER of San Javier Hospital in PV ( a satellite hospital of one in Guad. where I live, so I feel okay I know it is highly rated and my friends have had good luck there). Well long story short......food poisoning that should have cleared on its own but in light of my condition over the last year..hmm...so IV electrolytes and antibiotics.....abdominal catscan to be sure no obstruction or such.......nope but an ileus, very swollen part of intestine most likely caused from my severe dehydration which caused my potassium level to go down from vomiting and that can cause an ileus....will resolve on its own hopefully but have to be admitted......great! They also do an endoscopy to be sure, they are not taking any chances with my history....it shows no cancer cells but a small stomach ulcer....so I am in hospital for 3 days on liquids only......oh these black clouds or curse..go away. Hubby sleeps at hospital with me but goes to shower and eat at resort. The resort, Club Velas Vallarta was wonderful. They worked with us on the AI fees, pampered me when I returned, checked on me daily etc. I was impressed.

Despite the illness, it was a good vacation anyway. We had two weeks so we just played it low after I got out of hospital and we ate, slept, sunned, swam, and just relaxed and never left resort, oh except to get our car which was fixed perfectly. We did take one night and went over to Casa Velas to celebrate our belated anniversary since I was in hospital for it. After the hospital I did not drink any alcohol except a glass of champagne and a beer on two occassions. This was first vacation I ever went on and lost weight, I lost one pound, but that is okay I am trying to lose weight to get closer to my weight pre-cancer. I think the steroids are finally working out of my system as well as I am losing weight pretty easily.

All in all happy we went on vacation. Two days after returning I was in outpatient in Guad. for my Zometa infusion for my bones ( osteoporosis, which is real bad now with a high risk for hip fracture or spine fracture.). If it was not so bad I would not continue with the Zometa as it makes me so sick 4-5 days later for 2-3 days...similar to a mini chemo treatment or something.......I was sick and in bed for 3 days this time. Well that is past. Hubby left the following thurs. for the states and my son the following week went to the states for a month to work with his dad and make some play money. When he returns he will continue gaining flight hours and also do an instrument training flight course. He took my hubby and some of his friends ( at seperate times) up for a flight, they all had a great time. I cannot go as these are non-pressurized small aircraft and they could cause lymphadema...ugh.

So that is my update. I am all alone with two dogs, it is very quiet and I miss hubby and son. My son's friends come by daily briefly to check on me the sweeties. I did a very normal thing today since my strength is returning....other than laundry...I cleaned my refrigerator, well half of it will finish tomorrow. LOL. Imagine it felt good, little things mean a lot now.

Upcoming: Late Sept. one week in Mazatlan, changed from 2 weeks d/t hubby's schedule and mine and his need to get back to states. Hubby will come 4-5 days before vacation, we have appt. with plastic surgeon to finalize plans for my exchange surgery ( final reconstruction surgery), and also to coordinate with my Cancer Dr. for my 4 month cancer check tests to be done during same hospital stay. I am really nervous this time for another surgery, no clue why. Never had surgery before this whole ordeal and now I have had a Bilateral Mastectomy, a port a cath placed, gallbladder removed, total hip replacement etc. Anyway the surgery will be around the first week of October and I should be in hospital for about 3-5 days without any complications. Now that would be a novel thing for me, don't you all agree!!!

Before Sept. I am having my hair, yes I have hair now, colored. It grew in almost all gray, before it was dark blonde with brown and I colored it blonde or highlighted it. I feel too old for the total gray look right now..

I'll try to check in more frequently but I am not as fast catching up as I used to be LOL

Thanks for the report. You will stay on my prayer list.

I hope we never have to go to San Javier, but it is good to know that it is there and they take good care of you. PV is one of our favorite places.
        Mazatlan is nice too.

Thanks to all.....The vacation was a hit even with the illness. Velas resort and its staff are wonderful.

The hospital was okay too, I am getting used to hospitals for sure. LOL. One good thing my spanish is real good if it involves your health or something you may need in hospital etc.

I appreciate all your support.....happy vacations to all...
