I really can't believe that the moderators have allowed this thread to continue. It is basically a thread requesting advice on the best way to illegally avoid paying taxes. I thought that would be against the board's code of conduct.

The exorbitant tax recently levied applies to cigarettes SOLD in New York State. Buying cigarettes out of NY should not be illegal. I know a lot of people who used to cross the bridge to New Jersey to buy clothes because they didn't have sales tax on clothing there. When I file my NY State tax returns I am charged an extra tax (based on income) on internet purchases made from out of state businesses that do not charge sales tax.

Maybe it's worth taking a drive to Delaware....No sales tax & government taxes are only $1.15 a pack......That's a savings of over $20 a carton in sales taxes alone.

My friend pays about $45 - $50 per carton for Marlboros

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Thanks.....smoke free for me now....I must be saving a lot of money though, plus Mexico is clamping down also and if you can't smoke freely why have the nicotine fit, quit! LOL.

You can legally bring one or two cartons of cigarettes back from Mexico to US, they can be purchased anywhere not just in duty free shop and you do not have to pay duty, but that is not gonna last you long....

Personally I love online shopping too! And a bargain, where???????????

Actually, my original post was NOT about how to avoid paying taxes, it was to ask if anyone knows if the cigarettes sold online are unhealthier than the cigarettes sold in retail stores in NY.

Hello, what are the names of some tax free cigars company who doesn't pay much taxes as others. I will say that people always look for cheap one and if we cut the taxes then prices will automatically goes down. So, is there any company from where I can buy incense blend full tobacco cigars online.

Does anyone know if these cigarettes are safe? --- If it is all ok, he would save approximately $70 per carton.
              Thanks.
Not an answer to your question, but ... I recall thinking I was going to quit because the price was going above 25 cents per pack. I was probably 12 or so. I quit some 40 years ago when the health issues were being published. FWIW, due to DWs health issues, I wish the price was $40 per pack rather than per Carton.

How true. I am hoping he sees what you have and tries to quit. He has tried Chantix but I truly think he does not want to quit yet.

                    Code of Conduct?

Was that something Maxwell Smart had to deal with?

No, wait, that was Cone of Silence. I knew it was something that sounded about like that.
